“A good idea not communicated is lost.”   Effective international communication includes knowing that the other person has understood your message. Many leaders and managers do not communicate effectively; this is usually because they do not choose their words carefully. Keep it simple:

    1. If the subject is complicated:  spoken – use short sentences;  written: break it down into a summary and small, understandable parts. Use short sentences with not more than one subordinate clause.
    2. Always “check understanding”.
